I'll love you forever.
I'll like you for always.
As long as I'm living....
My baby you'll be.
Yesterday was a day met with mixed emotions for me.
My oldest son, Alexander, turned eighteen years old.
As I look back over these last eighteen years,
all I can think is
"Where did they go?"
Where is the baby that I held in my arms
and counted all of his fingers and toes?
Where is the baby who had colic
and constantly cried and I prayed to God to get me through it?
I eventually got through colic, first steps,
first day of school and so many other milestones in his young life.
All though he is a teenager through and through...
(He calls me a dinosaur....geesh)
I am sooooooooo proud of the man that he has
grown up to be.
He continues to amaze me
as he still has firsts in his life and how beautifully he takes
everything in stride.
Happy Birthday kiddo!!!
We made it......
I didn't post any baby pictures up
as promised.
(I'm saving those for graduation...)
My son will be 20 on Feb. 8th, he's in the Marine Corps & I bought book for him before he was born....I read it to him every night, it's worn now & was put away for a very long time until the day before he left for Boot Camp, on the morning that he left we sat on the couch together, Dad looking on & I read it to him, when I couldn't go on he finished reading it to me...God Bless you & your son, may you always share your beautiful memories & continue to make more!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome young man! I know you are proud of him, I can hear it in your words! Have a blessed day my dear and Happy Birthday Alexander.
ReplyDeleteSometimes those milestones are harder for the mom! My 'middle' child is turning 18 this year and like you I am so proud of him, he's his own man and at that age when you don't follow the crowd that says a lot. His birthday is in March and I've been saying for over a month now... I can't believe Cam will be 18... where does the time go? BTW I thought I left a comment on your last post but I guess I didn't but I had to tell you how much I love your hearts! They are Wonderful! Happy Birthday to your handsome son! ~ Theresa
