We Interrupt This Blog.....

For a proud Mommy moment.......

This is my son Alexander.
(He just wants to be called "Alex." He thinks it's cooler that way...whatever.)
My baby is now a senior in high school
and will be graduating in May.

I am sooo proud of my son.
He is going to pursue a degree in the arts, specializing in photography.
It's been an amazing journey these last seventeen years.
I am speechless at his growth into a man.
It really does seem like yesterday when he was just born
and I held him in my arms, scared to death about our future.
I remember being soo worried on his first day of school,
when he learned to ride a bike,
and hoping he remembered all of his manners on his first date.

I look at him now and I'm still worried.
I worry that he will pick the right school,
finish his degree, find the right girl
but most importanly,
I worry that the he will still remember all of the life lessons
I and my family have taught him
and that he will still use good manners for the future firsts in his life.

Alex, I just want you to know that you are one of my most shining moments
in my life.
I am so very proud of you and all that you've done.
Keep up the good work kiddo
and don't forget your manners.

To any mom who might be reading this.....
love your children always
and don't look over the little things
because your children won't stay little for long.

I know all to well how fast they grow up, we are starting to get mail about driving school at our house. EEK! It seems like just yesterday my daughter was in diapers, now she is getting ready to drive. Don't Blink!

  3. What a handsome son you have! I too have a son Alex who is a senior in high school and who wants to pursue photojournalism in college....isn't that crazy??? My Alex is my one and only child so I think I'll not only be worried about him when he leaves, I'll be worrying about what I'm going to do without him in the house....guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

  4. Awww...they do grow up soooo fast. Seriously, it seems like only yesterday my little 2 year old was born, and now he's a crazy 'lil boy driving his bike around the house. As moms we do the best we know how, and can only hope for the best. Sounds like you have given Alex a strong foundation to begin with, so we will do great in life.
