Merry Christmas

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

As I prepare to spend the next six to seven hours

in my kitchen

and The Divine Mr. M checks off

the "honey do" list that I have for him

there is a feeling of Christmas in the air.

 

Through all of the hustle and panic

that the day brings,

there will be songs of praise and worship

throughout our home

reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas.

 

Thousands of years ago,

a child was born

that would be the light of the world.

Our Lord and Saviour

sent to save mankind.

 

Let us not forget the joy of family and friends

and the love that is present on Christmas.

The kind of love that spreads from heart to heart

and from breast to breast.

 

Most importantly,

let us not forget that Christmas

is holy

and to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
