What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
....Langston Hughes.
That's how I feel today......
So far,
I have to put my show on hold until January
because the lady with the booth didn't call me until yesterday....
and wanted me ready in less than a week (not gonna happen.)
My etsy shop is up
but not running.
I'm waiting on my banner and get most
(notice I didn't say all)
of the kinks out in regards to policies and shipping
before I list my items.
I have always been one to set goals for myself.
ALWAYYSSS...ask my sis.
I hate....H-A-T-E when I don't accomplish it by then.
I have finally gotten halloween all packed away.
(by the way, spanish moss is my arch nemesis.)
I am currently decorating for Christmas
and will have new pics up later this week.
I just feel a little behind the eight ball
and it's getting me down in the dumps.
So......
I'm gonna sit right down and have one of these...
while hugging these....
and throw my self a good, old fashioned pity party.
I haven't done it in a veryyyyyy loooooong time.
You're all welcome to come.
Just put on your best sweats,
grab some tissue
and join in!!!
Okay,
I gotta go find a chick flick now....
and wash my glass.
(wine and dust don't do well together...trust me.)
Ohhh Sweetie... I am soooo with you. I have been distracted, put off, dismissed by so many obstacles in the ohhh past 4 plus weeks my pity party is just getting the roof raised ;)I say this because I have to make it through this Holoiday Sale that I am doing... very excited, however I have never done a show that is so well known and orchestrasted??? not sure if I spelled that right. Anyhoot go right on ahead a have your party and that we will get through this trial and thank God in the end for it. I hope your Tuesday is full of blessings.

i have totally been feeling spent lately too...and the holidays are not even really here yet...i just take a couple of deep breaths and carry on...can't wait to check out your shop! xo
ReplyDeleteOh Angelique I'm sorry things aren't quite going the way you want them too, trust me I know how that goes! Nothing wrong with a little bit of pitty and a good cry...then just pick yourself up and carry on...your dreams are bigger and better than any minor setbacks!!!
ReplyDeleteHope things start looking up for you SOON!!!
:) T
breathe...relax.. it's okay. Nothing a glass of wine, favorite itunes, and a hot bath won't cure!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Sweet Friend, I feel your frustration...I'm on my way with a nice bottle of whine! lol
ReplyDeleteThat's my motto...whine a little, you'll feel better!
All good things happen in the time they are meant to...really, I hope you know and believe, everythign will come together, you will see!
Hugs and love to you!
Hang in there, girl. It is all coming together, just not in the time you want. Have a short little pity party, get some good sleep and you'll have a fresh, new day to prepare for both of those stores/sales. Starting tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteDisappointments, I know, are very energy-draining. I know because I've experience plenty. Hmm...I guess these words I just wrote to you are for me too.
I'd love for you to visit my place and consider following me also.
Cynthia K. (Beauty and Blessings)
(P.S.)Your background is dreamy!
I have been thinking about my dream deferred lately too, prodding like you do at a loose tooth. I think it's time I bit the bullet. Hope your days brighten soon, can't wait to check out your Etsy store!
ReplyDeleteI give you one day for your whine and cheese party and then hop back to it. You got places to go, people to see and girl, you are not one to have a pity party for too long, right? After all, you are a beauty queen therefore you rule!

a kindred soul here - one of my fav movies when feeling down is - working girl - i like the way she puts things together to create an idea - it's the way my brain works also -
ReplyDeletehoping you are feeling better - it does get better - and as scarlett says - tomorrow is another day - it is so true -
just put one foot in front of the other and keep going - and believing and trusting and knowing you are headed in the right direction -
my best to you -
troy
Thank ya'll soooo much!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm better now.
I really appreciate all the encouraging words ya'll have expressed to me.
January will be here before ya know it. Your show will totally rock, as will your etsy shop. The scariest part of that is actually deciding to do it.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feelin' better!
Love,
Anne
I know I am a little late for the party, but listen girl, if you ever need any help setting up that shop, just let me know! I am here for you!
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs!
