Blood, Guts, and Halloween Gore

So...........
I come home last night from work
in time to kiss Mr. M and wish him a good night.
(He was working a graveyard shift.)

It was going to be my son, Shuga and me all night.
I was settling in, doing normal household activities
(opening a package of sausage for Shuga....)
when I look down and see blood........
EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!

Apparently, I've cut my finger....like the tip of it........almost off.

(Shuga's having a field day licking the blood off of the floor....ewww.)

I call Mr.M who says go to the ER.
What?!?!?!
I just left there...I'm not going back.

(I'm an ER nurse for all of you who are new to reading my blog.)

(Shuga is still following me around...licking blood off the floor.)
As hard as I try, I just can't get the bleeding to stop
(nor can I get my dog to stop either....geeesh.)
So.......
I now have this.

Nice, huh??

It is kind surreal to be a patient where you work.
I knew exactly what was going to happen and what
I needed to do, but it just didn't come to mind at the time.

Supah doopah thanks to Monica,
Nure Practitioner and girlfriend
for hooking....errr sewing me up!!!

(I kept the pics fuzzy for the weak stomachs out there
You REALLLLY don't want a close up, trust me.)

With my new booboo in tow,
I will be off for a few days to get ready
for my big Halloween party.
I will be posting pics and all the gory details
first of next week.

I do want to say "THANK YOU"
from the bottom of my heart
for all of the bloggy love
ya'll have shown me.
Ya'll are the best!!!!!
Spread the madness... there's still time to enter my giveaway!!!
I'm off to nurse my finger
and find some holy water
for my vampire dog.

Happy Haunting!!!

  7. Oh no, not good. This happened to me this past summer and the only reason I went is because the bleeding wouldn't stop, but I chickened out, I'm a huge chicken when it comes to things like this. And, you wouldn't think that I had my EMT license, anyways, I wouldn't let them sew me up so they super glued it! I know I should have had snitches, but...

  11. Oh no! So sorry about your finger. This is going to be awful...but my dogs tried to lick the floor after my water broke. I told the OB's office I'd be in as soon as I cleaned up! Hope you heal quickly (and I love your blog!).

  12. Hi,
my first visit to your blog and get to read a post full of "suffering" and good laughters!!!
Really had to laugh at your post, not certainly laughing at you but with you. The same happened to me some 14 years ago, when freshly married, and my DH decided that lemon juice would stop both the bleeding and desenfect. All the lemon juice did was worsen my pain and had to go to ER all the same. LOL
    Get well soon.
Your poor little finger permitting, I'll be glad if you have a chance to stop by my blog at http://ritashabbychicrose.blogspot.com/.
And don't forget to let me know you've been there!
    Blessings

  14. Ouch I am so sorry to hear about your finger. Those stitches can really hurt. I am always cutting my tip of my thumb- you would think it would be so callous from all the stitches that it would not even draw blood anymore!

  15. I am so sorry for your mishap. I am still chuckling at your story. Leave it to you to turn booboos into chuckles! No more puppy kisses for a while. Heal quickly!
