Breaking Up is Hard To Do

Yep....That's me.

By myself.

I haven't blogged this year because this year has been too painful.

I lost my dear uncle and best friend in January.
Then I had surgery in April.
The surgeon accidentally paralyzed my stomach.
I've been in the hospital almost this entire year.

I then lost my aunt...who I didn't get to say goodbye to because I was hospitalized.

Now I've lost my marriage.
The Divine Mr. M turned out not to be so divine after all.
He couldn't take me being sick.
He wanted out.

So here I am.
Me and my sons.

The good news in all of this is that I have moved closer to family.
I'm getting my own place and I truly get to show off my own style.

I can't wait to get back into the blogging world again and share my finds with yall.

It's coming in a few weeks.

For all of you who have stood by me...I love ya'll.
I started a blog to keep me sane when I moved out to no man's land with Mr. M.
I'm glad to reconnect and get back to the things that I love.

I can't wait to hear from ya'll!!

Home Again

I'm writing this blog with a whole in my heart.

Rohnny Darryl Price, age 55, went home to be with the Lord
on Januar 21st, 2012.

He was my uncle.
Yet, he was so much more.

He was like a father and a big brother to me.
He was my greatest fan and my best friend.
There has never been a major life event that he wasn't there for.
From my kindergarten graduation, to my marriage to The Divine Mr. M,
Rohnny has always been there for me.

I can never repay him for all that he has done for me.
He fought a good fight,
He kept the faith,
and he has finished his course.

I can only hope that at the end of his life,
I gave to him what he has given me for all of mine....
my very best.

I love you Rohnny
and I miss you more than words can say.
The love that I have for you is immeasurable.

All he wanted in his final days was to go home and be at peace.

I know that you are home again and I hope that you have found peace
at the throne of God.

"Later Gator"........

I'm Aliiiiiive!!!!

I know that almost all...and I do mean all of you
thought that I have died and fallen off the face of the planet.

On the contrary....

I've been busy...
beyond busy...
EXTREMELY busy....

This has been an insane year for me.

It's been a trying time for The Divine Mr. M and me.
There was a very painful custody battle
and now we are facing the death of a family member.

Mix all that in with one child in college
and the other three in just about every extracurricular activity
that you can imagine and life goes by quickly.
Before I even realized it
almost an entire year has gone by without blogging and connecting with ya'll.

I'm oh so sorry.

I miss ya'll and I'm back!!!!
I won't be here on a daily basis, but I am definitely going to be here at least once a week if I can.

The Divine Mr. M and I have been remodeling the farmhouse.
We are finishing up the kitchen even as I type.
(okay...Mr. M is finishing up. I had to give him credit because
he's on all fours laying the floor and giving me the stank eye.")

I can't wait to show ya'll!!!
I know that I've lost a few readers and I understand but I thank all of ya'll who have hung in there with me.

I have to go now....
being back from the dead has made me hungry.

Anyone know where I can't get some tasty brains this time of night?

I'm changing

This spring has shown all kinds of changes for me.
Changes with my health, my family, my house and my way of life in general.

Be it good or bad...I'm changing.

I can't wait to show ya'll all the transformations that have been going on around me!!!
I think ya'll are going to like them.

Icicle thoughts

DROPS OF CHARACTER

Have you ever watched an ICICLE form?

Did you notice how the dripping water froze, ......one drop

at a time, ....until the icicle was a foot long.... or more?

If the water was clean, the icicle remained clear and sparkled

brightly in the sun, but if the water was slightly muddy, the

icicle looked cloudy, its beauty spoiled.

Our character is formed in like manner.

Each thought or feeling adds its influence.

Each decision we make - both great and small contributes its part.

Everything we take into our mind:

impressions

experiences

images/words help create our character.

Acts that develop habits of hate, falsehood, & evil intent mar and

eventually destroy us---but habits born of love, truth & goodness

silently mold us into the image of God!

Character is what you are in the dark.

I read this once in a public speaking class in college
and it truly made an impression on me.

Whenever I see icicles, I always think of this passage.
It constantly reminds me to maintain my character at all time because I personally
want my icicle to be beautiful and sparkly.

What is your icicle like?

Bust a Move

"Don't just stand there....bust a move!"..Young MC

That's what I told myself this week.
I could either keep moping and feeling down
or I could get up and do something.

So that's what I've done.

The divine Mr. M is putting in a new closet system for me
and I just had to take advantage of a golden opportunity.
Since everything was off the shelves, I painted the wall
a nice off white called French Canvas .

It still looked kinda.....mmmmpphh.

So I  decided to break out a stencil that I've been saving for some pillows and stencil the wall.
Why the closet?
Because I'm a big, fat chicken.

I love the look of stenciled walls but would never commit to myself doing it in a major room.

I can barely sign my name legibly, yet alone paint.

So, I'm starting with the closet.
I'm stepping out on a limb and trying something new!

I can't wait to show ya'll the fininshed product.

Besides, if it's not that great......
only Mr. M and I have to look at it everyday.

New Year...New Me

A tide has turned in my life.
I can't really discuss it right now but it's been very hard...
and heartbreaking.

Things are changing at a rate that I can't really keep up with.
I have done a great deal of soul searching
and praying
and crying
to try to find meaning to all of this.

I know that one thing is for certain.
I have to take some time to devote to me.
I'm still forever the devoted wife and mother but I feel like
I'm losing myself.
When I look into the mirror I don't see myself anymore.
I see someone trying to be what others want.
I see a woman that is afraid to step out because I'm afraid to fail.
I see a woman who has pushed herself to the limit to live up to unrealistic expectations
and hates to say "No."

I know that I can't be alone in this.
If there is anyone else who feels the way I do, then make this year a great one.
Take time for yourself.
Do the things that make you happy.
Say "No" once in a while.

I know that I will.

P.S. The Divine Mr. M and I have started to renovate
our farmhouse and we can't wait to share it with you!!!

Where Does the Time Go???

I have NOOOO idea.

Actually, that's not true.....

I've been ill.
Very ill.
Hospital ill.

Before you freak out.......

I had a really bad lung infection.
It sucked.

Apparently, my computer hasn't been immune either.
She got sick too...
It sucked BIG TIME.

Then there's this cutie...

Yep..
That's my girl Taylor up to bat.
She decided to play softball so I've been at every game cheering her on.
Do you see her number??
Do ya?

She CHOSE that number all by herself.

That's right.
That's the number SIX she's rocking!!!

Her little sister is in on the act too...

That's my youngest Tori as their bat girl.
She's still rocking her number zero from basketball season.
It's now her signature number.

I now have this handsome fella....
That's not Louis Armstrong...
That's my youngest son Daviss blowing away on the trumpet.
He's doing an amazing job!
You should hear his
"Mary Had a Little Lamb."

Once the dust settled,  I realized that I've left you guys behind.

I'm sooooo sorry.
Can you ever forgive me?

Purple heart

I know that ya'll are wondering where I've been for the last few weeks.

I have been injured in the line of duty....
as a mama.

I fell down the stairs while caring my youngest daughter
because she had a sore foot.

Unfortunately, instead of receiving a purple heart
the only thing I did receive was a purple, swollen ankle.
I didn't fracture anything but I did tear a ligament pretty good
so I'm just now getting into the swing of things.

I'll be talking with ya'll soon!!!!!
My one year anniversary is coming up and I've got some awesome stuff in store!!!

Sunday, July 4, 2010

I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a
Happy Independence Day!!!!

As we barbeque, spend time with families and possibly set ourselves on fire with fireworks,
please remember all of the priviledges and rights that we have been afforded because of our forefathers
who took a stand and had to fortitude to follow it through.

Now.............
could somebody pleeeeeze pass the potato salad?

Time to Get Things in Order

I had such a great time in Athens
at Winnie and Talula's.

Not only were some of my good friends in attendance,
but there was some amazing finds as well.

See that fabulous little clock ?
It's mine.......
Go ahead and drool.
I'll wait.

The ever popular Mindy and Linda enjoying
the fabulosity of Linda's booth.

Linda's shop, Willow Nest, carries some of the most beautiful
pieces of vintage items and whimsy that you could ever lay your eyes on.

Linda's dose of white with a touch of color is simply perfect.
This ribbon and millinery were divine and were just right for spring.
Willow Nest also knows how to add the most wonderful
use of contrast such as velvet and burlap.

I made a bee line over to one of my favorite booths ever....
Robojunker...aka Margo.

Margo's wares make me swoon.
Although I'm a pearls and diamonds wearing lady
I'm really a rust and bolts kinda gal.

I LOVE RUST!!!!!
There...I said it...
I have an addiction to industrial junk
and Margo is one of my suppliers to my habit.

Just look at this scale!!!
With rust like this, who needs frills?
I tried to buy it but Mr.M reminded me that I already own one just like it...darn.

Margo did have some pretty shiny glass
because every girl needs some kind of bling.

This printer's tray was stunning.
The possibilities were endless but I had my eye on a few other items that I will show ya'll later.

I had to stop in and visit with my fairy blog parents,
Debbie and the infamous Cat Daddy

My fairy blog mama did not disappoint.
Remember the clock?
That's right...swiped it right up from her booth.

There was nothing trashy about this offering of gorgeous delights.
Cat Daddy was out on the street corner (literally)
showcasing some of his fine silver and great vintage finds.
See this really awesome post?
Cat Daddy had it......and I wanted it....baaaaaaaaad!!!

I begged.
I pleaded.
I made puppy dog eyes and stucky my lip out
but Mr. M wasn't having any of it.
He said the truck was too small to tote it home...boo!
It was such a gorgeous day that even the butterflies were
out and about.

There were so many beautiful finds that I don't have time to list them all
but I wish that I could.

Being in Athens definitely gave me a new perspective for
the spring.
I felt fresh and renewed and ready to get everything in order
for the renovation and remodeling of our house and our lives.

It was so great to see old finds and friends.

If you're ever up by Athens, stop by Winnie and Talula's and stay for a while.
Who knows?
Perhaps you will be ready to get things in order as well.

Disorderly Conduct

I'm gettin' all wild and outta control tomorrow!

The Divine Mr. M has brought my bail money
in his pocket
and I've been practicing my mug shot pose.

Why? you ask?

Cuz.....
I'm gonna get
at

There will be much to see and buy!!!

I can't wait to go disturb the peace
and my bank account!!

I know that I won't be the only one there
'cuz several of my partners in crime will be in attendance as well!!

If you happen to be on the run from the fuzz
and you just happen to escape by Athens,
then stop in and say howdy.

We'll keep your alibi for you.

Now.....
where did I put my recipe for baking metal files in cake?
